Drivers from Windsor, Eton, Burnham and West London also use our tyre services because we keep prices fair and explain everything clearly.

Not sure what your car needs? Describe the problem, such as a vibration, a pull to one side or a slow puncture, and we will point you to the right service.

Tyre fitting and replacement

Every tyre we fit is mounted on the rim with care, the valve is checked or replaced, and the wheel is tightened to the manufacturer’s torque setting. We check the tyre pressure before you drive away and take a quick look at your other tyres so you know where you stand.

You can bring your car to our Wexham tyre shop during opening hours, or ask our mobile team to fit your tyres where you are. Fitting and balancing are charged separately from the tyre itself, so you always see exactly what you are paying for.

Wheel balancing

Even a brand-new tyre is never perfectly balanced on its own. Small differences in weight around the wheel can cause vibration through the steering wheel or seat, usually at motorway speeds. Over time this leads to uneven tyre wear and extra strain on suspension parts.

We spin each wheel on a balancing machine and add small weights to even it out. Balancing is recommended every time a new tyre is fitted. Find out more about wheel balancing in Slough.

Wheel alignment

If your car pulls to one side, your steering wheel sits off-centre or your tyres are wearing on one edge, your alignment may be out. Potholes, kerbs and speed bumps can all knock it out over time.

Correct alignment helps your tyres last longer, improves handling and can help fuel economy. We check and adjust the angles so your wheels point the right way. See our wheel alignment in Slough page for details.

Puncture repair

Not every puncture means a new tyre. If a nail or screw has gone into the central part of the tread and the tyre has not been driven on while flat, a professional repair is often possible. We remove the tyre from the rim and inspect it inside and out before deciding.

If the damage is in the sidewall or shoulder, or the tyre has been run flat, a repair is not safe and we will recommend a replacement instead. Learn more about puncture repair in Slough.

Tyre rotation

Front tyres usually wear faster than rear tyres, especially on front-wheel-drive cars. Moving them around at regular intervals spreads the wear more evenly, so the whole set lasts longer and the car feels more balanced.

Many drivers book a rotation every 6,000 to 8,000 miles, or at each service. Our tyre rotation in Slough page explains the process.

Tyres and your MOT

Tyres are one of the most common reasons cars fail their MOT. Testers check tread depth, cuts, bulges, exposed cords, the correct size and type, and whether the tyre pressure warning light is working. A tyre that is fine to the eye can still fail if it is the wrong load rating or has a hidden cut.

It is worth booking a tyre check a week or two before your test. If anything needs replacing, our tyre services team can sort it in good time. You can also book an MOT in Slough through us.

Tyre pressure warning light on?

Most modern cars have a tyre pressure monitoring system, known as TPMS. When the warning light comes on, it usually means one or more tyres has lost pressure. Stop somewhere safe, check your tyres and top them up to the correct pressure.

If the light comes back on, you may have a slow puncture, a leaking valve or a faulty sensor. Bring the car to our tyre shop or call us, and we will find the cause and explain your options before doing any work.

TPMS sensor checks, repair and setup

Your tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warns you when a tyre is losing air. If the warning light stays on after you have set the correct pressures, or it flashes when you start the car, a sensor may be faulty, damaged or have a flat battery.

Our tyre services include TPMS sensor diagnostics and setup. We read the sensors, find the faulty one, replace it if needed and set up the system so it works correctly with your car. A working TPMS is also checked at the MOT on cars that have it, so it is worth fixing a warning light before your test. Call us or WhatsApp your registration for a price.

Choosing the right tyre for your car

The right tyre is not just about size. The load index and speed rating on your current tyres tell you the minimum your car needs, and fitting a lower rating can affect safety and insurance. Your driving matters too: a driver who mostly does short town trips needs something different from someone who covers long motorway miles every week.

When you contact us, give us your registration or tyre size and tell us how you use the car. We will suggest a few sensible options at different prices and help you choose with confidence.

What happens when you visit our tyre shop

When you arrive at our Wexham tyre shop, we confirm your tyre size and the work you need, then give you a clear price before we start. We remove the old tyre, check the wheel for damage, fit the new tyre and balance the wheel if you have chosen balancing.

Finally, we set the pressures, tighten the wheel nuts to the correct torque and show you anything else we noticed. Most standard tyre services are completed while you wait, and we will always tell you if a job is likely to take longer.

How to read your tyre size

Your tyre size is printed on the sidewall and looks something like 205/55 R16 91V. The first number is the width in millimetres, the second is the profile as a percentage of the width, R means radial and the next number is the wheel size in inches. The last part is the load index and speed rating.

Our tyre size guide explains each part in more detail and has pages for popular sizes such as 205/55 R16, 225/45 R17 and 195/65 R15. If in doubt, send us a photo of your sidewall on WhatsApp and we will check it for you.

When should you replace your tyres?

In the UK, the legal minimum tread depth for cars is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, all the way around the tyre. Driving on tyres below the limit can mean a fine and penalty points for each tyre, and it will cause an MOT failure.

Grip in the wet drops noticeably as tread wears down, so many drivers choose to replace their tyres at around 3mm. A quick check with a 20p coin is a good start: if you can see the outer band of the coin when it is placed in the main grooves, your tread may be close to the limit and it is worth getting it checked.

Signs your tyres need attention

  • Cracks, bulges or cuts in the sidewall
  • Uneven wear on the inside or outside edge
  • Vibration through the steering wheel
  • The car pulling to one side
  • A tyre that keeps losing pressure
  • The tyre pressure warning light coming on
  • Tyres that are more than six years old, even with good tread

If you notice any of these, our tyre services team can take a look and tell you honestly whether you need a repair, an adjustment or a new tyre.

Budget, mid-range and premium tyres

Not every car or driver needs the most expensive tyre. Budget tyres are a sensible choice for local driving and lower mileage. Mid-range tyres offer a good balance of grip, comfort and value. Premium tyres often perform best for high-mileage drivers and performance cars.

We focus on quality budget tyres at fair prices, and we are always happy to talk through the options so you get the best value for the way you drive.

Flat tyre repair in Slough

A flat tyre is one of the most common reasons drivers call us. If you need emergency roadside assistance for a flat tyre in Slough, stop somewhere safe, switch on your hazard lights and send us your location on WhatsApp. Do not keep driving on a flat, as it can damage the tyre beyond repair and harm the wheel.

For flat tyre repair, we first check whether the tyre can be repaired safely. If it can, we repair it. If it cannot, we fit a new tyre. Either way, you get a clear price before we start.

Winter, summer and all-season tyres

Most UK cars run on summer tyres all year round, and for many local drivers that is fine. All-season tyres add extra grip in cold, wet and occasionally icy conditions without the need to swap tyres twice a year. Dedicated winter tyres suit drivers who travel early in the morning, live on rural lanes or head to colder parts of the country.

Ask our tyre services team which type makes sense for your car and your driving, and we will give you a straight answer.

Simple tyre care tips

  • Check your tyre pressures at least once a month and before long trips, using the figures in your handbook or on the door pillar
  • Look for cuts, bulges and objects in the tread when you wash the car
  • Avoid hitting kerbs and potholes where you can
  • Do not overload the car beyond its rated limit
  • Have your alignment checked after a heavy knock
  • Replace the valve or valve cap if it is damaged or missing

A few minutes of care each month can add thousands of miles to the life of your tyres and keep you safer on the road.
